Manheim Watches Online Activity Continue Upward Trend

Most graphics from the recent Manheim Digital Monthly Update contained arrows pointing upward, signifying the auction company’s year-over-year growth in mobile and desktop users, sellers and buyers.
Manheim indicated more than 54,000 users log into OVE.com each month, based on traffic through November. That pace represented a 12-percent year-over-year gain.
Officials also discovered they had 25 percent more sellers on OVE.com in November, compared to the same month a year earlier. The level of buyers also ticked higher, going up by 9 percent year-over-year.
Furthermore, Manheim determined 24 percent of its total transactions now occur online, via its desktop or mobile offerings, Simulcast or OVE.com.
The largest single number contained in the update was the number of mobile visits through the first 11 months of 2011. Manheim tabulated it received more than 3.5 million visits through its iPhone and Android apps.
Of these mobile visits, 61 percent came from either an iPhone or iPad, while 32 percent represented users conducting business with an Android device.
“We’re connecting Manheim Digital and auction products to provide the ultimate experience for our customers,” declared Joe George, group vice president of Manheim Digital.
“For example, we’re bringing digital tools to the auction to help dealers download the free Manheim app to their smart devices so they can research, bid and buy simultaneously online and in the lanes,” George continued.
