ATLANTA -
Manheim revealed Monday that it has appointed a new vice president and general manager for Manheim Pennsylvania — the company’s flagship facility — to replace Keith Williams.
Williams is moving into the corporate role of vice president of technology integration, which is a newly created position at Manheim.
Hired to head up Manheim Pennsylvania is Tim Van Dam, who currently serves as Manheim Southern California’s general manager.
Officials said Van Dam was picked to lead Manheim’s flagship auction not only for his experience and leadership, but also for the accomplishments Manheim Southern California made during his tenure there.
The facility was named 2008 Auction of the Year (an internal award from Manheim) and won the same award for 2009, as well.
Van Dam’s experience also includes time as general manager at the California Auto Dealers Exchange in Anaheim, which has become Manheim California.
“Tim has earned the trust and confidence of buyers and sellers by demonstrating an understanding of and commitment to meeting their changing business needs,” said Mike Broe, Manheim’s executive vice president of U.S. operations. “He’s a proven team leader, and we’re excited to see what new directions he will take our operations at Manheim Pennsylvania.”
Meanwhile, Williams’ duties as vice president of technology integration include helping to keep Manheim at “the forefront of operational innovation and technology integration,” officials noted.
“Williams is a tremendous asset to our company and our customers,” Broe stated. “With his extensive industry experience, expertise in running Manheim Pennsylvania and his commitment to innovation, he has successfully turned our flagship operation into a model for others in and outside the industry to follow.
“Keith’s thorough understanding of auction operations and emerging technology and trends will greatly benefit our customers seeking new and better ways to increase efficiencies and profits,” Broe added.
