IRVINE, Calif. -

In announcing a renewed agreement with Experian Automotive for AutoCheck as the official vehicle history report in its certified pre-owned program, Mazda North American Operations revealed Friday that its CPO offering now includes a three-year AutoCheck Buyback Protection program.

This is designed to foster greater peace-of-mind among Mazda’s CPO shoppers. Greater confidence among buyers, of course, can often lead to more sales.

How does the Buyback Protection work?

According to the companies, this protection is provided at no extra cost on AutoCheck vehicle history reports should a certain title brand show up once the vehicle is reported to be free of the brand.

Officials explained that the program coverage includes the amount the customer paid to buy the car (up to 110 percent of the NADAguides.com published retail value). Additionally, it offers coverage of up to $500 in aftermarket accessories.

“The AutoCheck Buyback Protection Program will further instill buying confidence in our customers who are looking to purchase a reliable and affordable certified pre-owned Mazda vehicle," said Ron Stettner, vice president of U.S. sales operations at Mazda North American Operations.

"AutoCheck vehicle history reports provide a level of detail that will help build more trust between retailers and customers,” he added. “We look forward to showing our customers that we are dedicated to their satisfaction.”

Experian Automotive president Scott Waldron added: “Building trust between retailers and their customers is an essential element in auto sales success today. Providing the detailed vehicle history information in AutoCheck to car shoppers adds instant credibility to any CPO program, and we are excited to continue our relationship with Mazda and its retail network.”
