McGovern Automotive Group announced it has added to its holdings in New York with the acquisition of Genesis of Queensbury.
The Massachusetts-based dealer group will relocate the dealership to Albany, some 50 miles south, joining its Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo stores at the Albany Luxury Car Campus.
In a news release, McGovern said much of the Queensbury staff will move to Albany with the dealership, but added the company also plans to create “numerous” new employment opportunities in all divisions of the dealership. Dustin Chirico will serve as general manager, working with regional vice president Todd Grieco.
“By incorporating Genesis into our Albany family alongside Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo, we are underscoring our dedication to this community,” said CEO Matt McGovern, who founded McGovern Automotive Group in 2016.
“Our people are the lifeblood of our success, and we eagerly welcome talented new team members into the McGovern culture as we continue our strategic expansion.”
McGovern Automotive Group now operates 26 dealerships in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York.
