McIver Joins AAAG Board as Chairman

American Auto Auction Group chief executive officer Steve Simon revealed who the company’s new chairman of the board of directors will be.
And the name is a familiar one to remarketing professionals — Bill McIver.
“We are very excited to announce the appointment of Bill McIver as AAAG’s chairman of the board,” Simon declared.
“During his 40-year career with GMAC, Bill established himself as a highly respected innovator in the remarketing industry, and we look forward to collaborating with him as we continue to build our national platform of independent auctions,” Simon continued.
AAAG chief operating officer Keith Lelux added, “Bill’s talent and vision have made their mark on the business of remarketing cars in this country, and we are tremendously fortunate to now work with him at AAAG.
“Our auctions are certain to benefit from his sage guidance, as he focuses on strategic initiatives for AAAG,” Lelux went on to say.
After a 40-year career with GMAC, McIver retired as director of Internet remarketing in May 2009. McIver held a number of management positions with GMAC, which is now Ally Bank, in virtually every area of financial services including collections, dealer credits, commercial lending and remarketing. He managed operations in a number of locations and spent 10 years in GMAC’s Detroit headquarters
McIver was the developer and director of GMAC’s online wholesale auction, SmartAuction, which now has sold more than 3 million vehicles online. He also managed sales at 56 auction locations as director of physical auctions for GMAC.
“Working with Steve Simon and Keith Lelux is an extraordinary opportunity for me,” McIver stated.
“I have watched them build AAAG, and have been impressed with their commitment to the auction process,” McIver continued. “Their auction facilities are stand-outs in the industry. They are innovators in their own right, and I am looking forward to working with them and their board of directors.”
McIver is semi-retired and lives in Cumming, Ga., with his wife of 44 years, Nadine. As president of Forsyth Consulting Group, he is an industry consultant for Ally and others in the remarketing arena.
AAAG is headquartered in Charleston, S.C., and presently includes five auction properties: Charleston Auto Auction in Moncks Corner, S.C.; Mid-South Auto Auction in Pearl, Miss.; Texas Lone Star Auto Auction in Carrollton, Texas; Your Auction of Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Your Auction of Fort Myers in Ft.
