HOOKSETT, N.H. –

Fleet solutions company Merchants Leasing revealed Tuesday it has hired a new vice president of sales and marketing.

Bringing more than 25 years of experience in the fleet and equipment leasing industry to the company, Tom Coffey has been serving in his new position since this past October.

As VP of sales and marketing, Coffey’s role is to “provide vision and leadership for a best-in-class high performance sales team and marketing department,” the company shared.

Commenting on his new position, Coffey said, "I saw the opportunity to be a part of a company that is committed to being a top tier fleet management provider; a company that is family owned and in control of its own destiny. Therefore, they have the patience and resources to grow the right way."

Before joining Merchants Leasing, Coffey served in a similar role as senior vice president of sales for Donlen, where he was responsible for sales and new business development.

Other prior experience includes work as senior vice president of financial solutions at GE, leading business development and customer service activities.

Furthermore, during his time with GE, Coffey also led the North American efforts in truck fleet services and held regional sales management positions in Atlanta, St. Louis and Pittsburgh, officials noted.

He will now be working out of a Chicago office and Merchants Leasing headquarters in Hooksett, N.H.
