Mid-South AA Launches Food Drive to Help Local Charity

Mid–South Auction wanted to help Stewpot Community Services, an organization in Jackson, Miss., that shelters the homeless and feeds the hungry.
So last week the auction began a program it dubbed the Brown Bag Project. General manager Bob Sullivan urged dealers to return special program bags filled with recommended items.
The filled bags can be delivered to the auction during the next three weeks. The bags are being loaded into a Chevrolet truck parked in the lobby, which on the first day of the project was already half full.
“It will be interesting to see how many trucks full of food we can collect between now through Nov. 15,” said Sullivan.
Tara Lindsey, director of volunteer Services for Stewpot Community Services, indicated that on an average day, the organization’s kitchen feeds lunch to 175 people. In addition, the Stewpot pantry provides groceries to families in need.
“Without good corporate citizens like Mid-South Auction, we wouldn’t be able to meet these needs,” Lindsey stated.
Mid-South AA is a modern six-lane facility located just minutes from the Jackson-Evers International Airport in Pearl, Miss. A member of the American Auto Auction Group, Mid-South provides corporate-powered, independent service to its customers, and it has sister auctions in South Carolina, Florida and Texas.
