McLEAN, Va. — NADA University has two free upcoming training events for dealers focused on federal health-care reform and inventory marketing. The sessions are available through its monthly mini-Webinar series MarketINSIGHT.

Since sweeping health care reform pushed its way through Congress and the White House, NADA officials wanted to keep dealers informed. The Webinar "Federal Health Reform: Changes Aplenty for Auto Dealers" is set for 1 p.m. ET on May 19.

Officials explained this Webinar is meant to address the implications of the new health care legislation for small businesses like dealerships. They pointed out the law imposes mandatory benefit increases under group health plans, requires employees to obtain health insurance, fines employers for not offering coverage at an affordable cost and levies direct and indirect tax increases on employees and owners.

Speaking about these topics to guide dealers is Edward Fensholt, director of compliance services at Lockton Benefit Group, one of the country's largest privately owned employee benefits consulting and brokerage firm.

A week later on May 26 also starting at 1 p.m. ET, another MarketINSIGHT mini-Webinar is scheduled. This one is titled, "Leveraging the Internet as an Influencing Medium," and features AutoTrader.com's director of industry relations, Howard Polirer.

Officials highlighted that Polirer plans to examine how today's shoppers use the Internet to research and compare potential purchases. He's also scheduled to show dealers how they can influence buyers' decision-making process — through advertising and merchandising that build value and trust. Polirer also plans to touch on how dealers can manage their online reputation through social media.
