New Experian Tool Offers Dealers ‘More’ Than Just Vehicle History Program

Experian Automotive launched Wednesday a new program for dealers that the company says aims to provide more information for dealers and insights into “the market, the vehicles and the people who buy them.”
New vehicle history program AutoCheck Elite is designed to enable dealers to make better inventory and marketing decisions, drive the right customers into the dealership and sell more cars.
“As you know, AutoCheck is Experian Automotive’s vehicle history program, and it’s the vehicle info that dealers are relying on every day to help them understand and compare and select the right vehicles. In addition to that, the Elite program is expanding on that and going one step further and giving additional information regarding a dealer’s market, vehicles and people who drive them," said Lynn Kator, senior director of marketing and product management for Experian Automotive, in an interview with Auto Remarketing.
So, how does it work?
In addition to providing vehicle history data, AutoCheck Elite offers dealers reports which provide insights into dealer sales performance, vehicle registrations and consumer demographics in their market.
The company contends that by utilizing this information, dealers can better evaluate their sales performance against the competition, track sales trends of the most popular makes and models and better understand the consumers in their market.
"A complete understanding of the vehicle landscape can have a positive impact on a dealership’s growth and sales," said Scott Waldron, president of Experian Automotive.
"The AutoCheck Elite program goes beyond vehicle history reporting to provide dealers with a customized view into the competition, vehicle sales and the buyers in their market. Having this full view of the landscape allows them to make better strategic decisions when stocking inventory and marketing to consumers,” he continued.
Moreover, dealers using the new program have the option to increase their exposure to in-market shoppers through featured placement in the new AutoCheck.com dealer locator tool, which allows buyers to more easily find dealerships.
“As a component of the elite program, we wanted to be able to showcase our dealer customers. And we have a great platform to do that with. AutoCheck.com is the consumer website where vehicle history is made available to in-market car shoppers. But we have the captive audience, we have the in-market car shoppers looking at history reports every single day. And we wanted to expose our Elite dealers to that audience. So, this is another added value of the enhanced program," Kator explained.
Also, all AutoCheck Elite dealers will be privy to other features, including access to AutoCheck best practices training, a sales event marketing guide and enhanced showroom materials.
When asked what stands out about the enhanced program, Kator had this to say: “It’s really the report package. There are multiple new elements to the program, but really, the biggest advancement here is providing the report that allows them that information and insight into the market, vehicles and the people that buy them. That report package covers all three of those elements; and they will get information and deeper insight into their specific market, vehicles selling within their market and the people buying in their market. So, it is very specific to their market, and it is going to go give them information that they haven’t had insight into before. And it is going to be very accessible through the AutoCheck service that they know.
“Our goal is to bring our dealers the information they need to make better business decisions. And this program falls right in line with providing them the information they need to be more profitable and productive. So, we are continually looking to expand our offering and provide more value to our customers," she continued.
Dealers can learn more at the National Automobile Dealers Association Conference, Feb. 3 to 6 in Las Vegas, at Experians’s booth No. 2362. The company will be showcasing the new AutoCheck Elite program over the weekend.
