ARLINGTON, Texas -

Not being afraid of competition is one of the key tips the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association’s 2011 Quality Dealer of the Year revealed in an extended video interview.

Scott Allen, owner of AutoLand in Haltom City, Texas, shared how moving his rooftop close to Fort Worth has been extremely beneficial. Allen originally started up his dealership in 1994 in a rented location. About nine years later, he moved to his current site.

“We didn’t want to shy away from being up against a bunch of other dealers,” Allen said about being in close proximity to well-established franchise and buy-here, pay-here stores. “I feel like I can capture a lot of business being right here.”
