Nissan Americas Appoints Corporate Social Responsibility Director

Nissan Americas recently appointed a senior manager for corporate social responsibility to head up the company’s outreach efforts. Named to the position is Vicki Smith, who has been with Nissan since 1986.
As CSR senior manager, Smith is called to lead all of Nissan Americas’ philanthropic and community programs. This includes heading up things like Nissan Neighbors, which helps the community via education, environmental and humanitarian efforts
Along with this position, the company also appointed her executive director of the Nissan Foundation.
“Vicki brings the perfect blend of global corporate knowledge, communication skills and strong community relationships to her new role,” stated Nissan Americas vice president for corporate communications David Reuter.
“"We’re strengthening the alignment of Nissan’s philanthropy and community involvement across our operations worldwide, while continuing to meet the needs of individual communities where we have a presence — and Vicki’s global experience and strengths as a communicator will play an important role in that effort,” he added.
Delving more into Smith’s experience with Nissan, her most recent post was as a speechwriter for the automaker’s global senior leadership team, which included top boss Carlos Ghosn, among others.
“We’re very privileged to have Vicki join our Nissan Foundation team," said Scott Becker, Nissan North America’s senior vice president of administration and finance. Becker is also the president of the Nissan Foundation.
“Vicki is already active in several community programs, and I expect her experience in these matters to bring a focus to our philanthropic efforts,” Becker added.
