Oklahoma Sonic Dealers Reveal New Branding

A group of Sonic Automotive stores in Oklahoma have changed their names and are now under the “Momentum” umbrella brand.
The move was designed to "unite" the dealers and stress the advantages of the Momentum brand, which includes an “upfront price” model, customer benefits program and the 25,000 vehicles in its nationwide inventory, officials said.
“We’re changing the names, but not the great service and staff already in place. The name change represents a new way of doing business that is simple, transparent and upfront to create a better customer experience,” explained Sonic’s vice president of retail strategy Rachel Richards. ”For example, with Momentum’s UpFront Price, you’ll see the real price that real people have paid for that vehicle, right here in Oklahoma.”
The following are the name changes to the dealerships, with former name followed by new name:
Oklahoma City
Steve Bailey Honda: Momentum Honda Northwest
Dub Richardson Toyota: Momentum Toyota Northwest
Tulsa
Riverside Chevrolet: Momentum Chevrolet
Riverside Toyota of Tulsa: Momentum Toyota of Tulsa
Speedway Chevrolet of Broken Arrow: Momentum Chevrolet of Broken Arrow
Additionally, the website for all five dealerships is www.MomentumAutoOK.com.
As part of this move, Momentum is hosting a social-media contest that runs six weeks. During the “Building Momentum” contest, visitors can enter to win such prizes as MP3 players, tablet PCs and a new car.
To spur online and in-store traffic, Momentum is taking its digital efforts to such social-media venues as Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare.
"Our business starts online because that’s where our customers shop," Richards said. "The decision-making process starts at home in front of the computer before the showroom visit. We’re simplifying the buying experience to streamline the purchase process."
