Ally, NADA Launch Dealer Survey to Measure Charitable Contributions

Along with an update about a fundraising project in Oklahoma, Ally Financial announced how it’s joining forces with the National Automobile Dealers Association to launch a quick, six-question survey that will measure the charitable contributions of franchised dealers across the country.
For every survey completed, Ally and NADA will each make a $1 donation to Ways to Work, a nonprofit financial empowerment loan program that helps working families move beyond poverty through access to financial education and reliable transportation.
Dealers will be notified by email with instructions to complete the survey. Officials said all results will remain anonymous.
Ally, for the third consecutive year, is the sponsor of the TIME Dealer of the Year award, a national program that recognizes the industry's most successful franchised dealers who also demonstrate a longstanding commitment to community service. Heading into its 45th year, the program is co-produced by NADA.
“It’s one of the auto industry’s most prestigious awards for new-car dealers,” officials said.
Nominees for the 2014 award will be announced in October with the winner announced at the NADA Convention & Expo in New Orleans on Jan. 25.
Hudiburg Chevrolet Buick GMC and Ally Raise More Than $10,000 for Oklahoma Military Families
With the help of the Oklahoma City community, Hudiburg Chevrolet Buick GMC and Ally Financial raised $10,930 in July to benefit Operation Homefront Oklahoma, an organization that provides emergency financial assistance to military families.
The donation was presented to Carol Herrick, executive director of Operation Homefront Oklahoma/Arkansas last Wednesday during a celebration in the Hudiburg Chevrolet showroom.
“We are so appreciative of the continued support from Hudiburg and Ally,” Herrick said. “Many of our military families in Oklahoma truly need the assistance we give them, and it wouldn’t be possible without the help of our generous donors.”
Hudiburg Chevrolet Buick GMC donated $20 for each of the 210 new cars sold in July and $1 from each of the 1,123 oil changes throughout the month. The dealership also encouraged customers to match the individual donations.
“At Hudiburg, we believe it’s important to give back to the military men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom,” said Mike Myers, general manager of Hudiburg Chevrolet Buick GMC. “We asked the community to help us raise funds in July, and we’re very thankful that they stepped up to the challenge.”
Ally matched the combined total of Hudiburg and the Oklahoma City community’s donations in the month of July for a total donation amount of $10,930.
“The Hudiburg team members are local heroes who are making a real difference in the Oklahoma City community, and we are grateful to be able to join them in supporting military families who selflessly sacrifice so much for our country,” said Mike Kimmel, regional vice president of Ally Financial. “We value our relationship with Hudiburg Chevy Buick GMC and are proud to support their ongoing community efforts.”
Operation Homefront is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was formed in 2002 to support the families of deployed service members after the Sept. 11 attacks. Since then, Operation Homefront has given $128 million in emergency assistance to military families, which is granted within 72 hours and comes in the form of checks, emergency food, critical baby items, home repairs, furniture and other household items.
