PARSIPPANY, N.J. –

Avis Budget Group announced an expansion of its car sales program this week.

The company, in collaboration with retailer AutoNation, has added its home state of New Jersey to the list of locations offering its Ultimate Test Drive car sales program, currently available in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada and Texas.

The program offers consumers a wide selection of late-model Avis and Budget rental vehicles for purchase at competitive prices, the company says, and features more than 75 makes and models, both domestic and foreign.

The Ultimate Test Drive is free of charge for two hours, or can last as long as three days for a nominal rental fee. That base rental fee is refunded if the customer decides to purchase the vehicle through AutoNation Direct, a subsidiary of AutoNation.

Also, AutoNation Direct representatives are available to answer customers’ questions on financing, warranties and related services prior to completing the transaction.
