The midsummer dealership buy-sell frenzy has culminated in the biggest sale of the year — so far.
Bosak Auto Group sold all nine of its Northwest Indiana dealerships in two separate transactions to Victory Automotive Group and Graff Family of Dealerships, according to Haig Partners, which represented the seller.
Fast-growing Victory, based in Michigan, has acquired Bosak Honda in Highland, Bosak Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Merrillville, Bosak Nissan in Chesterton and Bosak Honda of Michigan City, raising its total to 58 dealerships in 12 states.
Victory has been active in the buy-sell market recently, adding five locations in 2024 and divesting a California Honda store this year.
Its new acquisitions have been renamed Victory Honda Highland, Victory Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Merrillville Victory Nissan Chesterton and Victory Honda Michigan City.
Graff, along with two of its general managers, Jerry Eluskie and Brandon Banks, purchased Bosak’s Chevrolet, Ford, Kia and Toyota dealerships in Chesterton and its Chevrolet-GMC dealership in Michigan City, adding the Indiana stores to its nine locations in Michigan.
The sale ends a 100-year legacy for the Bosak family in the auto retail business. The company, now in its third generation, was founded by John Bosak, a coal miner with a passion for fixing cars, who opened his first dealership in 1926.
“It was a difficult decision for my brother, sister and me to sell our family business that dates back generations,” said John’s grandson Greg Bosak, president of Bosak Auto Group, “but we realized it was the right choice for us and our children.”
Haig Partners president said the sale was “the largest and most valuable group ever sold in Indiana and the largest dealership group in the U.S. to have sold so far in 2025.”
Coughlin acquires Ohio’s oldest Ford dealership
Coughlin Automotive added another Ohio dealership — but not just any dealership — with the acquisition of Bob Chapman Ford in Marysville, according to The Tim Lamb Group, which brokered the deal.
The store is the Ohio’s oldest Ford dealership, founded in 1913. It will now operate as Coughlin Ford of Marysville under the leadership of president Al Coughlin.
“Acquiring the oldest Ford dealership in Ohio is both an honor and a responsibility we don’t take lightly,” new co-owner, Mike Coughlin said. “Chapman Ford has been a pillar in the Marysville community for generations and we’re proud to carry that legacy forward.”
“This dealership represents more than just a business.” Al Coughlin added. “It’s a symbol of resilience, trust and hometown pride. We’re joining a tradition that has meant so much to this community and will invest in its future with the same passion our clients have come to expect from all of our stores.”
The 28,000-square-foot dealership, which includes 24 service bays and a Ford Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center, is Coughlin’s 17th — all in Ohio — and adds to its presence in the Marysville market, where it operates Chevrolet-Buick-Cadillac and Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-RAM franchises.
Bob Chapman Ford dealer principal Joe Chapman said he made the decision to sell the store as part of his retirement and to transition into other business interests.
“After 112 years and four generations of family ownership, selling our Ford dealership was one of the most emotional and important decisions of my life,” he said. “This wasn’t just a business, it was a legacy built on over a century of hard work, community relationships and family pride.”
“The Coughlin Group, has shown a real appreciation for the legacy we’ve built and exceeded every expectation. Their commitment to continuing the tradition we built was clear from day one. Knowing the business is in such capable and passionate hands with deep industry knowledge, gives me great peace of mind.”
