British Columbia Auto Retailers Welcome New President

The Automotive Retailers Association of British Columbia named its new president this week. Picked for the role is Ken McCormack, who was previously the general manager at B.C. Milk Marketing Board and executive director of the Agriculture and Food Council of Alberta.
“I am excited about my appointment to the position of president of the ARA and consider myself privileged to be representing a dynamic industry that’s so important to this province’s social and economic foundation,” McCormack shared.
“I will be doing a lot of listening to the needs and interests of our industry members so that I can understand their priorities,” he continued. “In doing so, I’ll be better able to assist the ARA Board and staff team in building on existing efforts to develop strategic goals and objectives and responsibly allocate resources in meeting industry expectations.
“A critical goal for me is to enhance relationships with our members and business partners and to ensure effective communication between them and the ARA,” McCormack added.
Sharing more about McCormack’s career experience, officials noted that his posts have included time in the government of Alberta’s ministries of treasury,
agriculture and economic development.
“My fellow board members and I are very pleased with the outcome of our executive search that brought Ken McCormack to our attention and subsequent hiring,” said Gord Valente, chair of ARA’s board of directors.
“Ken brings a wealth of leadership and board relations experience and we are confident that he will be a great asset to the automotive retailing industry,” Valente added.
