Carfax Becomes History Report Provider for 32nd CPO Brand

Carfax announced today that another automaker is utilizing the company as the vehicle history provider for its certified pre-owned program.
Adding Carfax reports to its CPO program is Kia Motors America, which is now providing these reports with each certified vehicle, giving its dealers another strong selling point for CPO.
With the addition of Kia, 32 brands now utilize Carfax in their respective CPO programs.
“Kia is constantly moving the needle in providing superior quality and value to their customers,” said Carfax vice president Joe Koenig.
“Choosing Carfax vehicle history reports as an integral part of the Kia certification process is a natural next step. We’re proud to help make one of the fastest growing CPO programs even better,” he added.
Since the beginning of the month, Kia certified dealers have been required to pull a Carfax vehicle history report each time they certify a vehicle.
The reports are offered on eligible vehicles that are five model years or less and have been driven less than 60,000 miles. Kia’s certified units undergo a 150-point inspection and include the program’s 10-year/100,000-miled limited powertrain warranty. Additionally, Kia CPO vehicles include roadside assistance with no mileage limits.
Another part of the deal is that Kia CPO units come with the Carfax Buyback Guarantee, meaning that the vehicle will have no DMV-reported title brands. If one does, Carfax will repurchase the car. Officials noted that there are certain applicable terms and conditions.
“In addition to one of the industry’s most competitive warranties, Kia dealers can ensure even more peace of mind by providing a free Carfax vehicle history report with every certified Kia purchase,” stated KMA vice president of sales Tom Loveless.
“Carfax’s unmatched vehicle history information not only adds value to Kia’s CPO program, but gives our dealers an essential tool to build the confidence that turns more shoppers into buyers,” he added.
