CarMax has earned recognition as a 2026 honoree of The Civic 50, a program from Points of Light that showcases the top community-minded companies in the U.S.
The awards program, which is based on a comprehensive annual service, recognizes excellence in employee volunteering, community investment and social impact strategy.
And the used-car retailer is in good company. In addition to companies in other industries, The Civic 50 includes General Motors (the only other strictly automotive company on the list) and companies with an automotive presence like Experian and USAA.
“Today’s leading companies understand that community engagement is more than a program, it’s a reflection of their commitment to advancing social impact in ways that strengthen both their company and the communities they serve,” said Jennifer Sirangelo, president and CEO of Points of Light, in a news release.
“CarMax demonstrates how to embed purpose into the employee experience, build authentic relationships with communities and use business as a force for good. We’re proud to honor them with the 2026 Civic 50 award.”
Leslie Parpart, assistant vice president of CSR and associate experience at CarMax, added: “We’re honored to be named to the CIVIC 50 by Points of Light, one of the most respected benchmarks for corporate citizenship.

“This recognition reflects the heart of who we are, associates who show up for their communities with care, intention, and a genuine commitment to making a difference,” Parpart said. “We’re incredibly proud to be recognized alongside so many community-minded companies, and especially proud of the associates who bring this to life every day.”
UVeye, SoCal dealer to build bikes for families in need
Continuing in the spirit of generosity and community involvement, vehicle data intelligence company UVeye has teamed up with Claremont Toyota to host a Build-A-Bike charity event on Sunday, where dealership staff, industry partners and local families will build bikes for children in need.
The bicycles they build will be donated to Foothill Family Shelter in California.
Claremont Toyota is part of the David Wilson Automotive Group and has helped donate 10,000 bikes to children throughout Southern California.
“This initiative is so close to our hearts at UVeye,” UVeye chief revenue officer Omer Bar Joseph said in a news release. “Claremont Toyota brings the same care to their community as they do to their customers. We are honored to join them in giving back to local families, reinforcing our own commitment to strengthening the communities our partners serve.”
Claremont Toyota director of philanthropy and strategic partnerships Jane D’Amelio said, “Community has always been at the core of who we are. We’re proud to partner with UVeye on an event that blends innovation with helping local children.”
