AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -

Chrysler celebrated a landmark sale in its certified pre-owned program last month when a Chicago-area woman became the 1 millionth Chrysler CPO customer.

Back in September, Jessica Taskay — who is 21 years old, hails from Lockport, Ill.,  and works as a kennel manager — bought a certified 2010 Jeep Patriot Sport at Bettenhausen Motor Sales Inc.

She then came back to the Tinley Park, Ill., dealership — along with Chrysler CPO management — to commemorate the sale and the 10th anniversary of the automaker’s certified pre-owned vehicles program.

“I told Jessica that I don’t know if anyone ever told her that she was one in a million, but she certainly is with us,” Chrysler CPO boss Eric Swanson told Auto Remarketing on Thursday.

“We figured out that we would sell our 1 millionth vehicle probably in September, and we were very pleased with how it worked out,” he continued. “Bettenhausen does such a great job with the CPO program, and we were thrilled that their store was the one that sold the lucky vehicle.

“It’s our 10-year anniversary of selling certified pre-owned vehicles, and I couldn’t be happier that Jessica is the lucky recipient,” Swanson added.

During the celebration, Swanson presented Taskay with a gift package that included a lifetime warranty, a $2,500 gas card from Carfax and a $2,000 check.

The warranty package includes the following:

—Lifetime Maximum Care with zero deductible.
—Five-year road hazard, tire and wheel protection.
—Five-year Auto Appearance Care Plus.
—Five-year /10 Essential Care Premium LOF Services.

Sharing an interesting tidbit, Swanson offered the scoop on who is aiming to grab the next milestone.

“Jessica’s 14-year-old sister (Tami) came up to me and said she hoped she could be the 2 millionth customer,” Swanson noted. “I told her that I hope it won’t take another 10 years to get to that mark.”
