TraXtion founder and CEO Roger Tracy is retiring and passing the proverbial torch to Brad Kokesh.

The provider of automated tire and vehicle inspection systems said Kokesh, who joined the company as chief revenue officer in November 2023 and was promoted to president and chief operating officer this past June, will succeed Tracy as CEO and retain the title of president.

In a news release, the company said Kokesh will focus on accelerating product innovation, upgrading customer experience and expanding the business.

“I am honored to step into the role of CEO and grateful for the trust our board of directors has placed in me,” Kokesh said. “TraXtion has a strong foundation, a history of growth and a talented team focused on serving our customers. I look forward to building on our legacy and leading this company into our next chapter, delivering even greater value to our clients and partners.”

As president and COO, Kokesh played a key role in strategic planning, TraXtion said, as it seeks to expand its market standing and advance innovation in its TreadSpecX, WheelSpec, DamageSpeX and GrooveSpec brands. The company said Kokesh led several major initiatives that led to a partnership with a major dealership group and record growth and expansion.

Kokesh’s 30-plus years in automotive include senior leadership roles with Shift Technologies, DealerSocket, Cox Automotive and Dealertrack after beginning his career working in dealerships throughout the Midwest, which the company said gives him “a rare combination of executive leadership and hands-on dealership knowledge.”

Tracy started the company that is now TraXtion as Tire Profiles in 2008 as an offshoot of railway diagnostics company ImageMap, which had developed technology for tire manufacturers to measure tread depth and sidewall deflection of tires under load.

In 2013, Tracy teamed with automotive veteran David Boyle to develop products for the auto industry, the first of which, TreadSpec, was launched in January 2014. The company was rebranded as TraXtion in 2020.
