Less than a year after it opened, the only Porsche dealership in Iowa has been sold.

The Ed Morse Automotive Group announced it has acquired Porsche Des Moines from Woodhouse Auto Family, which launched the store last July to bring a Porsche retail outlet to the city for the first time since 2008, when Ramsey Auto Group dropped its Porsche franchise.

The dealership, which will keep its previous name, includes a new facility with an 11,000-square-foot showroom and 12,000-square-foot service bay.

The addition gives Ed Morse its first Porsche dealership and raises its total to 59 locations in eight states. The Delray Beach, Fla.-based company now operates five stores in Iowa.

“It is truly an honor to welcome the legendary Porsche brand to our growing family,” chairman and CEO Teddy Morse said. “This stunning dealership in West Des Moines is the perfect fit for our organization, as they are a well-respected, established and well-run organization.

“We absolutely love Iowa and its people and are looking forward to getting to know the incredible staff there, plus supporting the local community.”

The Morse family has been in the auto retail business since 1946, when Ed Morse founded Morse Motors. His grandson, Teddy Morse, has headed the business since 2016.

Woodhouse, founded in 1975 and based in Omaha, Neb., operates 25 dealerships in Nebraska and Iowa, including Porsche’s location in Omaha.

Dimmitt earns Cadillac’s No. 1 spot for customer satisfaction — twice

Dimmitt Automotive Group not only owns the nation’s No. 1 Cadillac dealership for customer satisfaction in 2025 — it owns two of them.

Cadillac recognized both Dimmitt Cadillac Clearwater and Dimmitt Cadillac St. Petersburg as No. 1 after the Florida stores tied for the brand’s top net promoter score for the year, Dimmitt Automotive announced.

Net promoter score, used by Cadillac as its customer satisfaction metric, measures customer loyalty based on how likely customers are to recommend a business and is regarded as a leading indicator of customer loyalty and advocacy. In a news release, Dimmitt called NPS “a powerful proxy for overall guest experience, satisfaction and long-term growth.”

“To have two of our Cadillac dealerships tie for the No. 1 position in the country is both humbling and a testament to the passion, consistency and care our teams bring to every guest interaction,” Dimmitt CEO Scott Larguier said. “When you consider the scale of Cadillac’s national dealer network, this achievement becomes even more significant. Earning the top ranking among hundreds of franchise dealerships across the country — and doing so with two of our locations — speaks volumes about the culture and commitment of our people.

“We could not be prouder of our team members at both Clearwater and St. Petersburg, who continue to set the standard for what a luxury automotive experience should be.”

The dual honor follows a similar recognition for another Dimmitt location, with Audi Wesley Chapel in Wesley Chapel, Fla., earning Audi of America’s Magna Society Elite award last week. The award recognizes fewer than 20 Audi dealerships in the United States each year that exceed expectations across all facets of the business, including sales performance, customer experience, service excellence and operational effectiveness.

Dimmitt, based in Clearwater, Fla., was founded by Larry Dimmitt Sr. in 1924. It currently operates 12 dealership locations in Florida.

“This recognition is incredibly meaningful for our organization,” Larguier said. “Guest satisfaction and service excellence are not just priorities for us — they are foundational to who we are.”

Rick Case Automotive takes part in Florida reading initiative

Rick Case Automotive Group president and CEO Rita Case — dressed as the Cat in the Hat — was among more than 50 volunteers from Women United, Rick Case Automotive and other community partners, including Rick Case Automotive Group, who celebrated and supported the National Education Association’s Read Across America initiative by reading All Are Welcome to 500 elementary school children at Sunland Park Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The celebration included a visit from Stanley C. Panther, the mascot of the NHL’s Florida Panthers, and each child received a brand-new copy of All Are Welcome to add to their home libraries and reinforce positive learning environments.

“We’re proud to celebrate reading and support at-home libraries for students through the Read Across America program,” Case said. “Too many children in our community don’t have access to age-appropriate books at home, and we know literacy is one of the most powerful ways to help children build confidence and create brighter futures.”

To date, United Way Broward has distributed more than 100,000 books to elementary school children from pre-K through second grade through its Reading Pals initiative.

“Reading opens doors to opportunity, imagination and lifelong learning. By instilling a love of reading and fostering the curiosity and excitement that every book brings, we’re helping equip students with skills that matter in every aspect of life,” said United Way Broward president and CEO Kathleen Cannon, who also read to the children. “Together with our community partners, we are not just encouraging literacy, we are helping change the trajectory of students’ lives.”
