Alpine adds first Chevy dealership to its Colorado holdings
Colorado’s largest woman- and minority-owned dealership group has added another location.
Alpine Automotive Group announced it has acquired Len Lyall Chevrolet in Aurora, Colo., from Jim Lyall. With the purchase, Alpine now operates five stores in Colorado’s Front Range, as well as a location in Illinois and one in Oklahoma.
“Aurora is a vibrant, diverse community and Len Lyall Chevrolet has earned deep trust here over many years,” Alpine CEO Ivette Dominguez Drawe said. “Our priority is to build on that legacy, supporting the existing team, strengthening relationships with customers and continuing to invest in the community while bringing Alpine’s people-first approach to this dealership.”
The new acquisition, which will be renamed Alpine Chevrolet, is the company’s first Chevy store, though it has a long history as a General Motors dealer. Its Alpine Buick GMC and Alpine Buick GMC South locations are consistently ranked among Colorado’s sales and volume leaders, the company said, and the group has won 11 GM Mark of Excellence Awards for outstanding sales and service during its 20 years with the brand.
“Chevrolet’s SUV lineup just had its best sales ever, and demand remains high, particularly in the Front Range, for trucks and SUVs,” Dominguez Drawe said. “This acquisition fits squarely into our vision for strategic growth and brand diversification.”
It’s also a fit for Alpine’s approach to the buy-sell market and optimizing dealership operations. In a news release, the company said every Alpine store has begun as a turnaround project, and all of them have since achieved triple-digit year-over-year growth, with some ranking in the top 10 nationally in its first year.
Alpine said its decision to buy Len Lyall Chevrolet was based on its “established service base, strong local reputation and history of customer loyalty.”
