DETROIT -

As preparation for the new year heats up, so does competition, and dealers are working  to ensure their customers stay loyal. One way to ensure this is through superior customer service. General Motors recently features one customer service representative in its “Faces of GM” blog who isn’t afraid to go the extra miles for buyers.

The GM customer service rep, Brandon, engages with owners on Chevrolet Camaro forums; a strategy that dealers and marketing execs can utilize, as well.

He scans the websites to answer questions and offers assistance to users, and is even know to connect buyers with the vehicles they are looking for.

“It’s  (Camaro5) actually an enthusiast website where any kind of DIY information, customer assistance information, and marketing information for Camaro owners or people who are in the market for Camaros can be found,” Brandon said.

On these sites, there is a tool that pulls information for the company, and customer service reps can respond to the posts, including customer service  or vehicle requests.

“Maybe its an incentive that they’re inquiring about, or maybe it is just talking abut how to do something on their vehicles … we act as the liason between the customer and the dealership,” Brandon said.

The rep even noted that he had even sold a vehicle through his work because he was able to find the exact model a customer wanted and give him a couple options from dealers all over the country to choose from.
