Hiley Automotive Group has added to its portfolio of North Texas dealerships.

The Texas-based business has acquired Lakeside Chevrolet in Rockwall, just east of Dallas, from Carol Grady, Michael Grady and Bob Holliman, according to Performance Brokerage Services, which advised on the transaction.

The purchase gives Hiley 11 locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, along with three in Huntsville, Ala. The dealership, which has been renamed Hiley Chevrolet, is the group’s first Chevy store and its first domestic franchise.

The family-operated business is led by Jason and Matt Hiley, sons of Randy Hiley, who in 1990 opened Hiley Mazda and Hiley Volkswagen in Arlington after a long career as a dealership executive.

Lakeside Chevrolet was founded in 1972 by Walter “Pat” Grady and his wife, Carol.

“We’ve had many people approach us over the years,” Carol Grady said of the sale, “but this was the right fit. Everything went just the way it should.”

Grady’s son-in-law Bob Holliman, dealer principal of Lakeside Chevrolet, said the focus was “finding the right buyer for our longstanding Chevrolet dealership. We weren’t looking to go through multiple buyers or a bidding process.”

Eric Scott of Performance Brokerage called Hiley “an outstanding buyer with a proven track record of high-performing dealerships in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. … For Carol Grady, finding the right buyer was about preserving the legacy she and her late husband Pat built over 53 years. We are confident Jason and his team will honor that legacy and continue to take great care of the employees, customers and community in Rockwall.”
