MT. LAUREL, N.J. -

From outdoor lights to indoor attire, Holman Automotive Group and ARI were seeing red during a recent fundraising campaign.

The companies this week announced the results of their Go Red for Women campaign, in which they raised $3,302 for the American Heart Association.

The campaign was held at Holman’s seven southern New Jersey dealership locations, at Steward Financial Services, and ARI, officials said.

Holman Automotive’s headquarters in Maple Shade, N.J., and BMW of Mount Laurel kicked off the fundraising campaign, celebrating the 10th annual National Wear Red Day by illuminating the outside of their buildings with red lights on Feb. 1.

Then, through Feb. 14, donations of $5 were collected at each site in exchange for the Red Dress Pin. Employees at ARI also teamed up and took photos dressed in red on Feb. 14, with the most creative photos winning prizes.

“The work that the AHA does to increase awareness around the issue of women and heart disease is absolutely critical, because it remains the number one killer of women,” said Melinda Holman, president and chief executive officer of Holman Automotive.

“I would like to thank all of our employees and customers who participated in this year’s Go Red For Women campaign — because of their generosity, we are able to make a difference and support the important work of the AHA,” Holman said.

The American Heart Association began the Go Red For Women campaign in 2004 to encourage and empower women to take charge of their heart health.

All funds raised from local and national Go Red For Women activities are used by the AHA to support awareness, research, education and community programs to benefit women, the organization noted.
