CARY, N.C. -

Among several other automakers already reporting strong certified pre-owned results for June, Hyundai Motor America said Tuesday it achieved its strongest month ever for certified sales, moving 6,775 units for a 7.5-percent uptick.

First-half CPO sales for the company reached 37,423 units for a 12.9-percent hike.

Hyundai was joined by several other brands sharing June and first-half certified results Tuesday.

At Volkswagen, its 8,689 CPO sales marked its strongest June ever and a 21.4-percent year-over-year hike.  June was also the brand’s third-best month ever.

Through the first half of the year, VW has moved 49,746 CPO units for a 14.3-percent gain.

Mazda sold 3,321 CPO units last month, up from 2,011 certified sales in June 2012. At the year’s midpoint, Mazda’s CPO sales were up 17,943 units, compared to 11,501 sales in the first six months of 2012.

Next up, Lexus reported 6,317 certified sales for last month, compared to 5,954 sales in June 2012.  In six months of 2013, Lexus has notched 36,450 CPO sales, versus 34,926 in the year-ago time frame.

At Ford, its brands combined to move 21,385 certified vehicles for June, pushing the year-to-date figure to 112,224 sales

Breaking those figures down, Ford/Mercury CPO sales hit 19,443 units in June, with year-to-date sales at 100,583. For Lincoln, there were 1,942 CPO sales last month, with first-half sales hitting 10,641 units.

Kia sold 2,976 CPO units in June (up 80.4 percent year-over-year) and pushed its year-to-date sales to 15,466 vehicles (up 78.9 percent).

Over at Mercedes-Benz, there were 7,773 CPO sales, up 17.9 percent year-over-year. Year-to-date sales are at 49,004 vehicles, a 24.3-percent hike.

BMW indicated that its used-vehicle sales (CPO and pre-owned combined) reached 13,859 units in June, up 2.7 percent from a year ago. Through the first half of the year, they totaled 86,559 sales, up from 82,282 in the year-ago period.

For the Mini division, used sales (CPO and pre-owned combined) reached 1,877 units last month, up from 1,614 a year ago. Six-month sales were at 10,324 units, up 18.5 percent year-over-year.
