SAN FRANCISCO and IRVINE, Calif. -

Two big names in the auto industry are teaming up in an effort they say will boost lead generation to dealers as it creates new advertising revenue opportunities.

Per the joint announcement this week, Autobytel has joined Jumpstart Automotive Group’s portfolio of digital automotive publishers.

Through the new relationship, Jumpstart said it now reaches 26 million unique visitors each month, while Autobytel benefits from an expanded advertising revenue opportunity by outsourcing its ad sales function.

Autobyte provides auto dealers, dealer groups and manufacturers with consumer leads, along with marketing and mobile services.

Jumpstart, meanwhile, is known for its True Market Impact brand health reports, and works with major auto manufacturers across its portfolio, which includes Car and Driver, J.D. Power Autos, and NADAguides

"Both Jumpstart and Autobytel have a long and successful history in the digital automotive space, so it makes perfect sense for us to work together to help auto marketers sell more cars," said Nick Matarazzo, chief executive officer of Jumpstart. "Autobytel is a great addition to our portfolio and further strengthens our position as the highest performing, most diverse audience in autos."

Jeff Coats, president and chief executive officer of Autobytel, added, "Jumpstart has a great reputation in the marketplace and has built solid automotive brand relationships that should enhance our ability to meet the auto industry's online marketing and advertising needs.

"By outsourcing our ad sales function, we are better able to focus on our core business of delivering high-converting leads to our dealer and manufacturer customers,” Coats said.

Autobytel also offers new- and used-vehicle research, reviews, car listings, buying guides, shopping tools, and auto financing advice. The company recently announced its strategic investment in AutoWeb, a pay-per-click advertising marketplace, as well as the acquisition of Advanced Mobile to provide mobile capabilities to auto manufacturers and dealerships.
