LaSorda Tapped for CEO Role with Fisker

After returning to auto business just a couple months ago, former General Motors and Chrysler executive Tom LaSorda has landed a new role heading up day-to-day activities for Fisker Automotive, where he has been working since December.
In a re-organization announced Tuesday, it was revealed that company co-founder Henrik Fisker will step into a role as executive chairman, while LaSorda was named chief executive officer and vice chairman of the board.
“I am delighted to be assuming such a central role at this exciting time in Fisker Automotive’s history," LaSorda noted.
"The Fisker Automotive team has designed and engineered a great range-extended electric car with industry leading technology, and it gives me great pleasure to be working together with the co-founders, Henrik Fisker and Barny Koehler to build Fisker Automotive into a global automotive company,” he continued.
"As part of our future strategy, we will be seeking strong partnerships and alliances as Fisker continues to grow as a brand,” LaSorda added.
The longtime Big 3 executive had signed on as vice chairman and executive adviser to the management team at Fisker back in December. LaSorda’s long background in the car business, of course, includes time as CEO, president and vice chairman of Chrysler in addition to several leadership positions with GM.
"I am looking forward to working closely with Tom as we steer the company into its future as an iconic global automotive brand with a range of desirable cars that offer environmentally responsible luxury,” Fisker noted.
Additionally, it was announced Tuesday that under reorganization, board chairman Ray Lane is taking on a lead director role.
