McLEAN, Va. –
NADA Used Car Guide executive analyst Jonathan Banks predicted strong sales performances for both used and new models for the rest of this year.
In a video interview on “AutoFocus with David Hyatt,” Banks reviewed first-quarter results and discussed the positive impact the recovering economy is having on sales of cars and trucks.
“Everyone talks about the pent-up demand and the average age of vehicles, it mean consumers are coming back and buying cars, not only new cars, but used cars, too. On the used side, sales are doing quite well because of this replacement demand,” Banks said.
Later in the video, Banks highlighted how the housing rebound that’s taken place so far this year is spilling into the automotive industry.
“The argument is that people feel wealthier when their houses are worth more. And when people feel wealthier, they go out and buy cars,” Banks said.
