Nissan to Recall Over 13K Versa Note Vehicles

In two recalls announced this week, Nissan will be pulling certain model-year 2014 Versa Note vehicles which make up over 13,000 units because of possible problems with bolts installed on various areas of the vehicles.
First up, in an action that affects 7,782 units, the company will be recalling certain model-year 2014 Versa Note vehicles manufactured between April 23 and July 5 of this year because the rear seat latch bolts may be have been manufactured incorrectly, reducing their strength.
In National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Campaign number 13V326000, Nissan explained that if these bolts were to break, the rear seats may not work as they should in a crash and could increase the risk of injury to back seat passengers.
Nissan will notify owners and dealers will replace the rear seat latch bolts, free of charge.
The next recall — NHTSA Campaign number 13V324000 — affects 7,707 Note vehicles manufactured between April 23 and July 3 of this year because the lower body sill bolts may be missing or incorrectly torque.
“Missing lower body bolts may affect the vehicle's integrity in the event of a rear impact, increasing the risk of injury,” the National Highway Traffic Safety Association report reads.
Nissan will also notify owners of affected vehicles, and dealers will install and tighten to specification the lower body sill bolts, as needed, free of charge.
Both recalls are expected to begin Aug. 12.
