The National Automobile Dealers Association announced its leadership for 2026, with vice chairman Rob Cochran set to become chairman and Sandy Fitzgerald Angello as the new vice chairman.
The new officers were elected by the NADA board of directors during the board’s meeting this week. The new terms will begin at the NADA Show, set for Feb. 3-6 in Las Vegas.
Cochran, a member of the NADA board since 2020, is chairman and CEO of #1 Cochran, a second-generation dealer who has led the family-owned business — the largest auto retailer in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio with 35 dealerships, 12 collision centers, and a wholesale parts distribution center — for more than 30 years.
Cochran, who previously served as chairman of the Pennsylvania Automotive Association and president of the Greater Pittsburgh Automobile Dealers Association, will succeed current NADA chairman Tom Castriota.
“At a time when the automotive industry is undergoing rapid transformation — from global trade uncertainty to challenges to the franchise system — it’s essential that America’s franchised dealers continue to work with all stakeholders on behalf of the dealer body,” Cochran said in a news release. “I look forward to working with the NADA board, along with state and metro dealer associations, to ensure the needs of Main Street dealers and their customers remain at the forefront of policy, education and advocacy.”
Angello, vice president and dealer operator of Pohanka Automotive Group in Salisbury, Md., has more than 40 years of auto industry experience. She has represented Maryland’s franchised dealers on the NADA board since 2021.

As vice chairman, Angello is in line to become chairman in 2027.
“This position allows me to amplify the voice of dealers and continue my decades-long commitment to improving the automotive industry,” she said. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members, NADA staff and fellow industry leaders to support franchised dealers and the customers we serve.”
Joe Massarelli, president of Liberty Auto City in Libertyville, Ill., was elected secretary for 2026, and Kirt Frye of Sunnyside Automotive Group in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, was re-elected as treasurer.
