SCHENECTADY, N.Y. –
As a host of retailers are getting ready for the holiday shopping season filled with everything from huge televisions to those memorable Christmas sweaters, Paul Potratz asked dealers if they’re prepared to move some metal and more on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Along with tips about how long an entire campaign should last, the chief operating officer and founder of Potratz Partners Advertising recommended how dealers can utilize some of the same strategies that get consumers into stores for 50-inch televisions and trinkets for family and friends.
“Don’t fall into the trap that I’ve seen a lot of dealers who think Black Friday revolves all around the car and price. You need to go farther, having sales events on extended warranties, tires, oil changes, car washes, everything,” Potratz said.
“What I really want you to do is gather a bunch of stuff from your parts department, stack it up on a tables and make it look like a flea market,” he went on to say during his latest video in the online series, “Think Tank Tuesday.”
Potratz went over three more points to structure a campaign to leverage consumers’ appetite for more than just turkey next week in a video that can be seen here.
