ALACHUA, Fla. –

Santa Fe Ford, located in Alachua, Fla., announced Wednesday that it just celebrated its 30-year anniversary.

According to company officials, the dealership that serves the greater Gainesville area is one of the largest used-car dealers in the area, as well as one the largest Ford truck dealers in the region.

General Manager Greg Waitcus expressed his enthusiasm for the area Santa Fe Ford serves, "We have proudly served their (the Gainesville) community for decades and will continue to do so for decades to come."

Moreover, the company noted that it works to maintain a low overhead on its inventory orders, “mostly so they can drive their prices down."

For over half its lifetime, Santa Fe Ford has also been affiliated with Santa Fe Powersports, which specializes in powerboats, Xpress boats and motorcycles. The dealership’s powersports collection includes nameplates such as Suzuki and Polaris.

The Santa Fe company was founded by John Waitcus, who had previously owned dealerships associated with Porsche, Saab, Audi, Volkswagen, BMW and Hyundai. Including his prior experience and time with Santa Fe, Waitcus boasts more than 50 years in the industry, the company noted.
