SmartGroups is going to Disney World — and it’s inviting independent retail dealers throughout the nation to join in.

The 20 Group provider has partnered with the Disney Executive Leadership Institute for a three-day training session for up to 75 dealers, set for May 20-22 at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

The program, which will be led by Disney executives, will be centered on leadership, designing culture and understanding profit-chain models.

“I believe 20 groups should provide maximum value to dealers, and this is just another way SmartGroups is reinventing a very old model,” SmartGroups founder and CEO Justin Osburn said. “Dealers in a 20 group want to improve so we are constantly discovering new ways to assist in education and peer collaboration, and this Disney event is going to be a legitimate milestone.”

The dealers, including members of six SmartGroups, will go through the program together. The agenda includes training in Disney’s parks and underground, where the logistics of Disney take place.

The event kicks off with a reception on May 19, followed by all-day training May 20-22. SmartGroups said it has secured a room block at Disney’s on-property flagship hotel, The Grand Floridian.

“It’s difficult to communicate just how much value attending this train will bring,” Osburn said. “We’ll cover topics such as operational profit chains, external and internal surveys, customer-for-life value, hiring and maintaining a team and designing a culture in which that team can thrive.

“There is just so much crammed into these three days. We’re very excited to put it together.”

SmartGroups has opened registration to all independent retail dealers, regardless of whether or not they are members of a SmartGroup. Osburn said more than 50% of seats have already been sold.
