TOYOTA CITY, Japan — Toyota Motor Corp. shook up its divisional assignments again on Tuesday.
Executives said corporate-social-responsibility functions now fall under the jurisdiction of their corporate planning division. Previously, CSR functions, which include risk management, were under the environmental affairs division.
The automaker emphasized it made the change to "enhance the collection of information within and outside the company and enhance response across regions and functions."
Toyota indicated the change went into effect on Tuesday, leaving the company with 255 divisions.
A month ago, the manufacturer created a new design quality innovation division to reside under its technical innovation group. Toyota revealed back on May 1 that the decision altered its engineering data control and management division and its development and quality innovation department.
Toyota emphasized those changes were to shore up its quality issues stemming from ongoing recall turmoil.
