BSC America’s Tallahassee Auto Auction celebrated not only its 27th anniversary in late June, but also enjoyed a sale that set records across the board.

The company reported it sold more vehicles than ever before in its history during its anniversary sale held in its recently expanded facility, hosting 280 dealers — also a record for the auction.

Featured remarketers at the auction included ARI, Wells Fargo, PHH and Florida State Credit Union, among other financial institutions in the area.

"Tallahassee’s anniversary event proved to be a very beneficial sale to our clients," said Brian McBrearty, of ARI Vehicle Remarketing.

"Through steadfast marketing efforts and the dedicated spirit of Doug (Rodriguez, general manager of Tallahassee Auto Auction) and his staff, we realized an auction experience rich with both in-lane and internet bidders. Our sale retentions exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to the exciting events planned for the remainder of 2011,” he continued.

Rodriguez went on to highlight that the record-setting anniversary sale also served as the kick-off to an active summer season at the auction, which has brought on year-over-year gains in consignment and sales.

"We’ve been having a great summer," said Rodriguez. "Despite the economic challenges, our business is up from last year, with increases on both the dealer and institutional sides of the business.

“Our hard work is paying off, and we’re pleased to report that we’re not only standing our ground in the face the market challenges, but are also making gains every month,” he further stressed.

Tallahassee Auto Auction is located within the city limits of Tallahassee, Fla., on the main thoroughfare of Capital Circle and just 4 miles east of Tallahassee Regional Airport.

According to management, the facility accommodates 600 sale-day vehicles, with additional acreage dedicated to inventory storage and customer parking of 500 vehicles.

The auction’s customers include fleet and leasing companies, banks and credit unions, auto dealers, rental car agencies, insurance companies, non-profit organizations and government agencies.
