SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -

Is interacting on social media really that much different than a face-to-face dialogue people might have? The experts at Potratz Partners Advertising don’t think so and explained why in their latest video of their online series, “Think Tank Tuesday.”

Samantha Cunningham, vice president of account services at Potratz, began her recommendation by sharing an example likely familiar to many dealers.

“You need to think of Facebook like a cocktail party or a social gathering. It’s everything you’ve been taught about social situations, except it’s in the palm of your hand,” Cunningham said.

“That means you want to talk and act like you would in a group of people because Facebook gives you the opportunity to have more friendships and connections than ever before,” she continued.

Cunningham goes on to explain a two-step process that can help dealers become a better resource for their connections on Facebook and other social media by not turning them off and becoming too overbearing.
