SAN JOSE, Calif. -

In an effort to protect dealers, automakers and affiliates from fraud, Cars.com chose 41st Parameter on Wednesday as its new primary fraud protection provider to help support the retail listing website’s growing demands.

Cars.com explained that when it decided to reevaluate its approach to fraud prevention, the site had very clear requirements.

Officials wanted a partner that was able to meet the needs of its expanding product set and growing ad volume while helping to further protect the Cars.com brand without impacting the user experience of the site.

Cars.com also wanted to expand security for its growing base of mobile clients. Plus, the company wanted a system that was easy to understand and manage.

“Providing our clients and advertisers with the best user experience has always been our top priority,” said Josh Chapman, vice president of operations at Cars.com. “We are also dedicated to combating fraud and ensuring the utmost security for our site visitors and customers.

“Partnering with 41st Parameter gives us an even greater ability to alleviate the risk of fraud with their proven and stable solution while preserving the site experience,” Chapman continued. “We’ve also been able to deploy and manage the 41st solution independently and effectively. The move to 41st has been a welcome and positive addition for our business.”

Officials from 41st Parameter highlighted that their FraudNet solution is designed to detect and prevent fraud before it happens. The company provides fraud prevention, identity insights and pro-privacy advertising solutions that are designed to help prevent consumers from falling victim to hackers or being targeted by unwelcome advertising.

Management at 41st Parameter emphasized that it seeks to build awareness around understanding digital identities and offers technology and advice to help address it.

“Cars.com is a marquee brand, and we value the opportunity to help protect that brand and its customers from fraud,” said Ori Eisen, founder and chief innovation officer of 41st Parameter.
