Covideo Announces Update to Mobile App

Video email services company Covideo revealed this week an update to its mobile app that will allow dealerships and other businesses connect to with customers through text messages in a new way.
The update will allow Covideos to be sent as text messages, in addition to emails.
Larry Dorfman, chairman and chief executive officer of Covideo, said, “This new capability opens up opportunities for companies trying to reach customers and prospects.
“As more and more people regularly use text messaging, Covideo offers the ability to connect with them using personalized videos to cut through advertising clutter and build closer relationships. We always strive to give more, and this is an innovative use of technology that delivers on that promise,” he continued.
Here’s how it works.
Now, when a Covideo is sent as a text, it is uploaded to a serve and sent as a hyperlink. The company explained this allows the Covideo to be streamed with no large file to transfer over text or time-consuming download for users.
Dorfman explained, “The new Covideo texting feature allows the sender to show and explain services or features to a customer or prospect. For example, a clothing shop might take a minute to snap a Covideo of a new arrival, and a realtor could stand in the middle of a kitchen and make a 360-degree Covideo for a prospect. The list of uses is endless. Texting takes less time than emailing, and many consumers prefer its speed and convenience.”
As for current app users, they have received a notification that an update is available.
After applying the update, Covideo users can use the app to record and text a video to their customers, the company said.
