Dealers Offered eBay Motors’ National Subscriptions

Auto dealers may find a new avenue for reaching nationwide customer pools, with an announcement this week by eBay Motors.
The company has launched a fixed-rate, national subscriptions program it says can enable small and mid-size dealerships to reach millions of car shoppers.
With the subscription program, dealers can leverage a consistent monthly online sales channel through three- and 12-month subscription models for eBay Motors, ranging from five to 100 listings and complete with account support, detailed reporting and sales tracking information.
“The national subscriptions program builds upon the existing services and support eBay Motors has offered dealers for years,” said Bryan Murphy, head of eBay Motors. “eBay Motors provides dealers with a critical sales channel that enables them to reach a broader base of consumers, and in the variety of ways that they prefer to shop, from online to mobile.
“This new program allows us to further customize our services for dealers, so they can choose the solution that is best suited for their business needs,” Murphy said.
The subscriptions program also offers advanced seller tools, dedicated one-on-one account onboarding and support, the company said.
eBay reported that a passenger vehicle sells every two minutes on the site, and that in second quarter 2013, 76 percent of all vehicles sold on eBay Motors were interstate transactions.
As for mobile shoppers, eBay Motors said as of May 2013, 11,000 vehicles are sold each week through eBay mobile apps.
