DriveItAway integrates its subscription platform with Stellantis’ Free2move

DriveItAway Holdings has joined forces with Free2move, the global mobility brand of Stellantis, to launch Free2move Powered by DriveItAway, a national initiative that aims to “transform dealerships into next-generation mobility hubs.”
In a news release, DriveItAway said the integration of its flexible lease-to-own subscription platform into Free2move’s modular software-as-a-service marketplace is designed to deliver a seamless, app-based experience that allows customers to drive a vehicle — without a down payment, credit approval or long-term commitment — and buy later if they choose.
“We’re not just expanding,” DriveItAway CEO John Possumato said. “We’re changing the rules of engagement for dealerships and customers alike. This partnership gives every franchise dealer the tools to offer flexible, on-demand vehicle access while unlocking entirely new profit streams.”
The partnership allows franchise dealers to offer vehicles by the minute, day, week or month, or through an open-ended lease-to-own option, through a co-branded app and platform, DriveItAway said, and returned vehicles are re-entered into a new short-term lease model via Free2move, maximizing use and profitability.
It also gives dealers access to a competitively priced pool of used vehicles, the companies said, helping them manage aging inventory, improve margins and meet demand quickly as the market changes. And, they added, with a target audience of consumers and businesses traditionally served by rental car and subscription companies, it helps dealers reclaim lost market share.
Free2move noted the integration is designed to align with traditional automotive sales processes and existing dealer sales workflows
“This is a pivotal moment for mobility in North America,” Free2move North America managing director Benjamin Maillard said. “By embedding flexible subscription services into dealer networks, we’re delivering a high-value solution that meets today’s consumer expectations, while giving dealerships a powerful competitive edge.”
Free2move said the partnership offers dealers increased profitability and sales by expanding the customer base, reducing acquisition costs and improving used vehicle inventory management.
Free2move’s platform is structured as a modular marketplace, designed to enable rapid of third-party services such as DriveItAway’s proprietary platform that includes customer scoring, a “Savings-to-Ownership” pathway and integration with dealers’ digital front ends.
Free2move also provides insurance, fleet-on-demand solutions and broker integrations plans to integrate future mobility innovations, including autonomous driving and urban air transport.
“Our modular SaaS marketplace is designed precisely to align mobility innovation with traditional automotive sales processes,” Maillard said. “Integrating DriveItAway strengthens our platform as the go-to solution for dealers aiming to leverage mobility to boost sales and profitability.”
