Well, that didn’t take long.

Matt Leone has been named CEO of dealership CRM and artificial intelligence platform DriveCentric, just a week after it was announced he had stepped down as CEO of automotiveMastermind.

In a news release, the company said the hire comes on the heels of a year of record customer growth, representing “a pivotal step” in its evolution. DriveCentric said its customer base has grown more than five times since 2020 and now includes more than 2,200 dealerships.

“I’ve been a longtime admirer of the pioneering innovations that have made DriveCentric the most advanced CRM in our industry,” Leone said. “The company is already on an incredible trajectory — rapidly growing, innovating and setting a new standard for how dealers scale and operate — and I’m thrilled to help continue that momentum.

“In the coming years, our customers can expect continued progressive product development, increasingly sophisticated AI capabilities that empower dealership success, and a strategic expansion of DriveCentric’s partner ecosystem.”

Leone was with automotiveMastermind for five years as chief operating officer and CEO, the latest stop in a career that spans more than 25 years in software leadership, including stints as global vice president and COO for SAP’s Cloud operation.

He’ll work with DriveCentric co-founders David Fultz, John Kohlmeyer and Philip Fusz and an expanded leadership team to focus on the company’s expanding Augmented Intelligence products and partnerships.

“Matt brings a unique combination of auto industry knowledge, SaaS operating expertise and strategic product leadership to our business,” Fultz said. “Our alignment around company culture, customer-centricity and product vision enable me to concentrate my passion for the business on transformative AI initiatives that will shape the future of our industry.”

Fusz said Leone’s “proven track record of leading expanding businesses, along with his deep understanding of our automotive technology industry, give us great confidence in the value we will continue to unlock for dealers.”
