TSD Mobility Solutions made a move to bolster its telematics offerings.
The global software provider for rental car companies and auto dealerships has acquired Zubie, a provider of connected-car technology designed to help business and rental fleets manage and protect their assets.
“By bringing Zubie into the TSD family, it will strengthen our ability to manage fleets across North America and the world,” TSD president Shawn Concannon said. “Never before has TSD’s telematics offerings been as robust as they are today and will be tomorrow.”
Zubie’s telematics tools include 24/7 GPS tracking, vehicle health and maintenance, driver performance, driver check-in, fuel levels, vehicle valuation, dashcam connectivity and real-time reporting, TSD said on a news release. The systems are designed to allow companies of all sizes optimize operations, improve safety and reduce costs.
In a news release, TSD said Zubie is also “a perfect fit” for its culture, as the new acquisition highly values client and partner support.
“Joining forces with TSD allows us to deliver even greater value to the rental and dealership operators who rely on us every day,” Zubie CEO Chad Caswell said. “Our customers will see faster innovation, broader integrations and more tools to improve their bottom line.
“With TSD’s global reach and our continued focus on customer success, the best is yet to come.”

TSD cited Zubie’s in-vehicle smoke detection as an example of the company’s innovation. In July, it earned Zubie a Gold Stevie Award for Technology Excellence in Transportation Technology as the New Service of the Year. TSD said the service sets “a new industry standard” for proactive fleet protection and policy enforcement, helping rental operators protect their assets and hold renters accountable.
Concannon said Caswell and Zubie’s executive staff will keep their positions with the company following the acquisition.
“With their leadership remaining in place, the incredible work they have done will continue,” Concannon said. “I’m excited to see what they come up with next.”
