While mobility-focused technology continues to impact how individuals move each day, mobility solutions have also allowed fleets to use ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft to better manage control costs and drive productivity.
Automotive fleet management industry provider Wheels announced Wednesday that it has partnered with the Uber for Business platform to manage ground transportation with Uber.
This follows news from last month that LeasePlan entered a new partnership with Lyft to provide its fleet clients more streamlined management of travel and fleet spend.
Similarly, Wheels will maintain and fund Uber for Business company profiles for its clients in order to capture fleet trip data as part of its new partnership. Participating fleet drivers will use a Wheels' account from Uber that can automatically track trip details and related expenses.
"We have been in the mobility business for nearly 80 years. From robust surplus management to being the only fleet management company to offer both vehicle lease and mileage reimbursement programs, we continue to lead the industry with innovative solutions," Dan Frank, chief executive officer and president of Wheels, said in a news release.
Additionally, any captured travel information is available on Wheels’ online fleet management system FleetView. From FleetView, users can review trip reports with fleet data to help fleet make decisions.
"Uber for Business is focused on giving organizations the tools they need to manage ground transportation in a scalable, efficient and cost-effective way," said Mary Fairchild, head of West U.S., Uber for Business. "We're excited to see how innovative companies partner with Uber for Business to deliver a better customer experience and create a competitive advantage."
