SPOKANE, Wash. -

DAA Northwest, Kansas City Independent Auto Auction and El Paso Independent Auto Auction recently teamed up for a special NASCAR-themed promotion to benefit the charitable efforts of famed race-car driver Greg Biffle.

DAA Northwest had been hosting “NASCAR Days” alone for several years, but this year, the auction worked with KCI and EPI for the first time to co-host the event, which raised money for The Greg Biffle Foundation.

“It just made sense to incorporate all of our locations in this one promotion,” explained Bob McConkey, a partner at each of the three facilities.

The charitable endeavor was launched in 2005 and is designed to raise awareness and promote the welfare of animals via donations to Humane Societies, no-kill animal shelters and spay/neuter clinics.

Biffle was a guest again this year at the event, which in the past has also drawn NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. The promotion was held after the weekly Wednesday afternoon fleet/lease sale and closed the Harley-Davidson Financial Services sale at DAA Northwest, which is located in Spokane, Wash.

In their benefit for the foundation this year, the auctions matched the proceeds generated by all items sold at the event. These items included:

—Autographed driver jackets.

—Biffle’s fire suits.

—Custom manufactured and hand-painted helmets bearing Biffle’s No. 16.

—Autographed die cast cars.

—A NASCAR trip with the following perks: two VIP passes to the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 500, a private tour of Roush Fenway Racing’s headquarters, a trip to the NASCAR Hall of Fame and a trip to Biffle’s Triple B Ranch for the Second Annual Greg Biffle Foundation Mountain Retreat.
