Upcoming ARTS Webinar: Strategy to Find Inventory That Turns Fast

With summertime fast approaching, organizers of the Auto Remarketing Training Series want dealers armed with the best plan to find inventory that’s priced right and can turn quickly. Many experts are predicting that as some new-vehicle inventory becomes tight due to the Japan quake, late-model used vehicles could be the next best thing for customers.
The next free ARTS Webinar bringing together four industry experts is set for 2 p.m. EST on Tuesday. This session titled, “How You Can Improve Your Used Car Operations,” covers a broad range of topics geared to benefit all dealership department managers and personnel.
The four presenters include:
—Chad Goodson, process improvement specialist at CARFAX. Goodson intends to share how dealers can take advantage of vehicle history whether they’re at the auction, on the Internet or on the lot.
“Use vehicle history to arm yourself with the most up-to-date information when making those crucial buying decisions at the auction or during an appraisal,” Goodson stressed.
—Ronda Lewis, used-vehicle industry specialist at DealerTrack. Lewis described her presentation as "featuring tools so dealers can stock what sells."
“From this Webinar you will learn how to use tools available to you to identify top-selling vehicles, not just top sellers for you, but your market,” Lewis emphasized.
—Howard Polirer, director of industry relations at AutoTrader.com. Polirer plans to reveal results of the 2011 Automotive Buyer Influence Study conducted by R.L. Polk & Co. and what these results mean to dealerships of all sizes.
“For the first time ever, the total amount of time that consumers spend on the car shopping process has been captured, as well as how that time is allocated among various shopping sources,” Polirer stated.
—Ed Berkowitz, vice president of open auction at OPENLANE. Berkowitz is gearing his presentation so dealers can apply retail discipline to the wholesale process.
“Dealers can learn how to bridge the gap between retail and wholesale to maximize margins,” Berkowitz explained.
The free Webinar is scheduled to last about 90 minutes, giving dealer attendees the opportunity to ask questions to each presenter.
“The challenges in today’s used-car marketplace are complex and they require dealers to stay up-to-date on the latest tools and trends to be successful,” noted Bill Zadeits, associate publisher of Auto Remarketing who will serve as the Webinar’s moderator.
