LOS ANGELES — Westlake Financial Services has revealed the list of its top five auctions for the second quarter, and taking the top two spots and three of the five positions were Manheim facilities.

Ranking No. 1 overall was Manheim Nevada, followed by Manheim Arizona in the No. 2 spot. Placing third was Norwalk Auto Auction (California), with Manheim Metro Dallas and KCI Auto Auction (Missouri) earning the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

Westlake Remarketing Department's scoring model is based on 22 quantitative and qualitative measures. The ranking of auctions is determined by sales and service scores.

Looking at all auctions evaluated, Manheim Nevada took the top spots for the sales and service measures. Manheim Arizona was second for sales and Norwalk AA was No. 3.

For service, Pittsburgh Independent Auto Auction was second and Manheim Metro Dallas placed third.

Bill Walters, vice president of remarketing, said the West saw strong gains in auction sales.

"Our Q2 results showed consistent strength across most Western markets," he noted. "Returns lagged somewhat in the Midwest and East. Q1 sales in those markets were particularly strong and Q2 returns underperformed slightly."

Ian Anderson, president of Westlake Financial Services, added: "Special congratulations to the auctions that made it to the top of the list. They have shown strong consistency in the face of a very tough economic recovery. Westlake is proud to do business with all of the auction houses we have relationships with."
