INDIANAPOLIS -

After starting to move vehicles down the lanes at its new Keystone State operation last month, Auction Broadcasting Co., is gearing up for ABC Lancaster Pennsylvania’s grand opening sale, which is scheduled for Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m.

The company anticipates having more than 1,300 vehicles and more than $5,000 in giveaways, as well as a courtesy lunch for the dealers attending the sale.

Last month, ABC Lancaster began to wholesale vehicles at its new eight-lane facility that consists of 40,000 square feet and a spacious lobby. During that first sale on Sept. 12, the auction consigned nearly 1,000 vehicles and gave away free barbecue and gifts at the end of the sale.

Auction management highlighted that one of the first sale drawings awarded a $4,000 prize, which went to Irwin Martin from Schaefferstown Auto and Truck Sales.

“Our ceiling fans were a big hit on sale day,” ABC president Jason Hockett recollected. “We have five huge fans with 15-foot wing spans throughout our auction facility to cool our customers. They’re incredible.

“For winter time, we have radiant heated floors in the auction lanes,” Hockett continued. “Our new vehicle check-in process is all being done on iPhones and iPads.  Our goal is to have photos of every vehicle in the sale, no matter how late it arrives to the auction.

“I cannot say enough about how talented our IT staff is and how hard they worked to get this rolled out in our Pennsylvania auction,” Hockett went on to say. “Mary Haller and Jason Brinkley have worked tirelessly to help set up and train our ABC Lancaster Pennsylvania staff.

“We have been so fortunate to gain a well-known partner in Greg Gehman,” Hockett added. “He has so much respect from his staff and the dealers in the Northeast. I cannot forget to mention Heidi Wallace, Bill Arnold, Chris Arnold, and Ron St. Denis. They are all associates of ABC Lancaster Pennsylvania with great reputations and servants' hearts.”

Hockett also mentioned an appearance by management from another auction in the region.

“We were pleased to have Lynn Weaver and his son, Clint, join us for our first sale in our new building,” Hockett shared. “Lynn, Clint, and their Harrisburg Auto Auction are class acts and we look forward to working with them as friends and not competitors in the Pennsylvania market.”

Along with ABC Lancaster Pennsylvania’s eight lanes and other amenities, Hockett also noted the operation will open its restaurant during the grand opening, featuring chef Chuck Pirko.

“Chef Chuck is a fantastic cook,” Hockett declared. “This is our goal: We expect our buying customers to have quality used vehicles to purchase and our selling customers to return home with a check and a full stomach.”
