America’s Group has gone global.

The auto auction group said Thursday that it has acquired U.K.-based G3 Remarketing, a British independent vehicle auction company that operates as G3 Vehicle Auctions.

This is America’s Group’s first expansion outside the U.S.

The purchase, which includes G3’s locations in Castleford and Bedford, goes beyond broadening the physical footprint, the group said.

America’s Group called the acquisition a “strategic step into a new market with a proven partner” and chose to buy G3 because of, “its strong reputation, rapid growth, and ability to modernize the remarketing experience through a seamless blend of digital and physical platforms,” the company said.

“Entering the UK market is a defining moment for our company, and there was only one way we wanted to do it, with a partner that is already setting the standard,” America’s Group CEO Chuck Tapp said in a news release.

“G3 has built something truly differentiated in how they serve customers and evolve the auction experience. That made this the right first step internationally,” Tapp said. “We are not here to change what is working. We are here to invest in it, support it, and help take it even further.”

In fact, the acquired auctions will retain the G3 Vehicle Auctions name, with America’s Group “is committed to preserving the culture, service, and processes that have driven G3’s success,” the company said.

G3 Vehicle Auctions was founded in 2009 by Matt Dale and Amanda Holtby. The Castleford auction was launched in 2021 and features several sales a week. It remarkets roughly 50,000 units annually.

Meanwhile, the Bedford auction remarkets about 30,000 units per year.

“It became apparent as soon as we engaged with America’s Auto Auction that they would be excellent custodians of the company. It was critical that the values, culture and long-term vision aligned with our future ambition for G3. This deal will provide a multitude of personal development opportunities for the existing team and further bolster G3’s position as the UK’s go-to remarketing partner for both vendors and purchasers,” Dale said in a news release.
