America’s Group has added two auction operations and extended its footprint to another state.
The auction company said Monday it has acquired Jefferson Mid-State Auto Auction in Wisconsin and United Mobile Auctions in North Carolina. The latter is America’s first purchase in the Tar Heel State.
Jefferson Mid-State has been renamed America’s Auto Auction South Wisconsin and is America’s third location in Wisconsin.
“It’s with a full heart that I share the news of the sale of our auction,” said Brad Hults, owner of Jefferson Mid-State Auto Auction, in a news release. “Serving our incredible clients, the best consignors and buyers in the region, has been the honor of my lifetime.
“You are true car-guy legends who inspire us to be better week after week. I also want to thank everyone who stood by us over the years, especially my dad, who taught me everything I know and shaped every step of this journey,” Hults said. “I am confident that America’s is the right group to take our auction experience to the next level, delivering even greater results for our clients while supporting our team in ways unmatched in the industry. I look forward to watching it all flourish.”
Meanwhile, the United Mobile Auctions business, which is based in Monroe, N.C., will operate as America’s Mobile Auto Auction Carolina Inc. The business has five mobile auction sites throughout North Carolina and South Carolina, with more than 15 years of experience.

“I am pleased to announce a major strengthening decision for our auction company,” United Mobile Auctions owner Ben Himsel said in a release. “After 15 years of building this business, we have executed a strategic transaction with America’s Auto Auction. This agreement represents an exciting opportunity that will allow us to take the business to the next level and provide significant benefits for the UMA work family, as well as for our valued buyers and sellers.”
America’s CEO Chuck Tapp added, “We’re excited to welcome Jefferson Mid-State Auto Auction and United Mobile Auctions into the America’s Auto Auction network. Both of these auctions share our commitment to exceptional customer service while strengthening our reach, our relationships, and our reputation as a trusted leader in the wholesale auction industry.”
